The 'Cheers (Drink to That)' singer was forced to pull out of a show in Malmo, Sweden, on Monday (31.12.11) after being hospitalised with a bout of flu, and her medical team are concerned she is going out too much while on tour.

A source told The Sun newspaper: "Rihanna is running on empty but she's still been going out drinking and living it up.

"She doesn't have any down time where she can completely relax. She spends most of her time in the studio, on stage or in clubs. Doctors are worried she's overdoing it.

"She needs to take some time off. Otherwise she'll be vulnerable to more illness."

Rihanna, 23, posted a picture of herself with a drip in her arm from the hospital, and later released a statement apologising to fans for missing the show.

She said: "I am sorry to everyone who was coming out to my show in Malmo. I was so excited to perform for you all.

"It would have been a great time. So much better than being sick with the flu, ugh. I'm really disappointed I couldn't be there."

Stars have rushed to wish Rihanna well with friend and mentor Jay-Z and US 'X Factor' judge LA Reid sending her flowers.

The 'Promise This' singer is "pulling out all the stops" to help her Girls Aloud bandmate - who checked into an American treatment facility in Arizona earlier this month to receive help for depression and alcohol addiction - and the brunette beauty has even invited her to stay at her Los Angeles home to escape from the UK when she checks out.

A source told the Daily Star newspaper: "Cheryl is really concerned for her friend Sarah. She made time in her busy schedule to travel over to Arizona and visit her in the rehab centre.

"Cheryl feels really passionate about alcohol and drug abuse after years of worrying about her drug addict brother Andrew.

"She has told Sarah she is more than welcome to use her LA home as an escape pad when she comes out of rehab. A bolt-hole where Sarah can chill out and escape the London limelight and maybe try to save her relationship with Tom."

Sarah - who called off her engagement to DJ Tom Crane in the summer - has reportedly extended her stay in rehab and is unlikely to be out in time for Christmas.

Girls Aloud member Kimberley Walsh recently revealed 29-year-old Sarah is doing "really well" on the programme.

She explained: "I don't want to go into detail about Sarah, but she's doing really well."

The 'In Time' star is set to take on the lead role in the movie 'Lovelace' about the 1970s X-rated star, alongside Peter Sarsgaard as her pornographer husband Chuck Traynor, despite Kate Hudson and James Franco previously being linked to the film, according to Variety.

The adaptation has been written by W. Merritt Johnson from Eric Danville's book 'The Complete Linda Lovelace', and is being helmed by Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman.

The film is a different production to 'Inferno' - which is also about Linda's life - which at one point had troubled actress Lindsay Lohan attached to star but will now feature Malin Akerman in the lead role.

Linda was married to Chuck while she starred in infamous porn movie 'Deep Throat', but later divorced him and left the adult film industry, which she later derided in a number of biographies published in the 1980s, including her 1986 book 'Ordeal'.

Production is set to begin on 'Lovelace' in January.

The 'Abduction' actor is close to agreeing a deal to team up with the 'Milk' filmmaker on a movie based on a non-fiction article in The New Yorker magazine that the 'Twilight' star has optioned.

The 19-year-old Hollywood hunk is expected to take his career in a new direction with the project, which is set to be produced via his Quick Six production company, which he runs with his father Dan Lautner.

Plot details of the movie are yet to be disclosed, but it is thought filming is planned for the first quarter of next year.

The movie is expected to differ from the 'Twilight Saga' franchise, in which the Hollywood actor portrays werewolf Jacob Black.

Earlier this year, Taylor starred in 'Abduction' - which tells the story of a boy who finds his image in a missing person's file.

'The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1', the penultimate movie in the vampire franchise, is set to hit screens on November 18.

The 'Mr. Know It All' hitmaker doesn't mind being called the Breakup Anthem Queen - as she thinks songs about the end of relationships are "sassy" - but hasn't had dated enough guys to keep writing laments to her own lost loves.

She told MTV: "I love a feisty song. I like to be sassy. That's usually a breakup song. It's really in your face. I just end up writing it more that way because it's better for mainstream radio.

"A lot of times, if I'm writing, a lot of people think that's about a guy; it's not actually about that. It's more about my work environment. I write 'metaphorically speaking' a lot.

"I actually haven't dated in a while, so there's no breakup song for me on there."

Kelly, 29, can relate to her sadder tracks, however, as the pain of one particular breakup with a "loser guy" is still fresh in her mind.

She added: "I have been through one breakup that was real crappy. I think that'll last me for a lifetime, so I'm good.

"He was just a really loser guy and that kind of whole situation. I don't know what was wrong with me. I was never in love with him. We're completely different. I don't even know why.

"I think that is how lonely you get sometimes, when you're like, 'Well, you don't look so bad.' That was bad, but I got a lot of songs out of it!"

Pixie Lott Planning To Write With British Stars


Pixie Lott is hoping to team up with both Jessie J and Ed Sheeran to work on some new songs.

After recording her second album in the US, the 'All About Tonight' singer is keen to collaborate with fellow British stars for her next record.

She said: "Me and Ed are going to try to do some writing together. I joined him on stage at one of his shows recently so we have vowed to start writing some songs next.

"Jessie J too, we were meant to have a writing session years ago but our schedules didn't meet. We have to try and make it happen at last."

Pixie did, however, have a great experience making new album 'Young Foolish Happy' in California, in particular getting to work with soul legend Stevie Wonder on one song.

She added to the Daily Star newspaper: "We met through a friend and I found it all overwhelming. When we met he held my hand for ages; I guess it's just to feel your aura. We wrote a song called 'Stevie on the Radio' and he played harmonica on it.

"I'm thinking about my next tour. I always sing Stevie's 'Isn't She Lovely' live so I'd like to do more covers of his."

'Young Foolish Happy' is released on November 14.
