British pop star Pixie Lott cheated death during a skiing holiday when her car skidded on a snow drift and almost toppled over the edge of a cliff.

The Mama Do hitmaker was on vacation in France with her parents when their vehicle careered out of control and tumbled onto its side.

Terrified Lott opened a door in a bid to help the family escape certain death, but miraculously her father managed to flip the car back onto its wheels and steer away from danger.

She tells Britain's Sunday Mirror, "Once, I went skiing in France and we were up this icy mountain driving back from the slopes. We were going really slow, but the car toppled onto its side on the cliff edge and everyone was screaming.

"I was on the side at the top so I opened the door but my dad, who was driving, somehow swerved it back onto the road. He said it was divine intervention because he'd lost control of it. But all of a sudden it spun back onto the road."
